Refugee Shabbat Service at Shir Ha-Ma’alot

March 11 | 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

As Jews, we understand what it is like to be strangers in a strange land. Our Jewish communal story is replete with times when our people have sought refuge in foreign places. With a panel of experts, moderated by our own Julie Marzouk, join us for a meaningful discussion about refugees and asylum seekers, and learn from experts from HIAS, a Jewish organization that has helped settle our people in new and safe homes in the past and is continuing that critical work with today’s refugees. We will also hear stories from families in our congregation who were resettled by HIAS over the generations, and the impact that experience has had on where they are today.
