Welcome The Stranger - Donate Today
The Orange County Jewish Coalition for Refugees (OCJCR) is driven by the deep moral obligation and ethical imperative from our own history to welcome the stranger and protect the refugee. We are a grass-roots, all-volunteer coalition of individuals, synagogues, and community groups affiliated and aligned with the goals of HIAS, a Jewish international refugee resettlement agency.
We work within the Orange County community to support refugees through:
Direct service to refugees and asylum seekers
Volunteer Community Sponsorship teams who assist a refugee family through their first year of resettlement
Helping bring at-risk Afghans to safety through Humanitarian Parole Sponsorship
Local interfaith and intercultural alliances
Educational and bridge-building events
Donation drives
Fundraisers
Legislative advocacy
We invite you to join together and help OCJCR fulfill its mission to help refugees in our community.
As an all-volunteer organization, YOUR SUPPORT is crucial to help OCJCR expand our reach!
Your support will increase our impact by:
Helping locally resettling refugee families and Afghan evacuees purchase food and/or pay rent.
Increasing our capacity to assist more refugee families and asylum seekers
Providing home hospitality and transitional housing to asylum seekers just released from immigration detention
Allowing us to continue to offer programs to educate and raise awareness.
Thank you in advance for your meaningful contribution. Any and all amounts are helpful.
